For the second time in four years, the New York Rangers will start the regular season in Europe. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Blueshirts will open up their 2011 campaign with a game against the Los Angeles Kings on October 7 in Stockholm, Sweden. The next day, they’ll face the Anaheim Ducks to finish the two-game trip overseas. In 2008, the Rangers played two games against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Prague (Czech Republic) and won both contests by a 2-1 score. A day after sneaking into the Stanley Cup playoffs, fans of this Original Six franchise has something else to look forward to, even if the playoffs don’t go as we hope. All eyes would be on Swedish-born goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who should get tons of support from his countrymen.
