The Boston Bruins host the New York Rangers in this week's featured NHL game of the week. The Bruins enter the 2012-13 season basically the same team that made the playoffs last year with one major exception. Goalie Tim Thomas announced he was taking the season off, which has accelerated the full time playing status for heir apparent, Tuukka Rask. Rask was signed to a one-year deal in the offseason and has plenty to prove to remain with the Bruins for the long haul. Top returners for Boston include 20-year old Tyler Seguin who was the Bruin's top scorer last year. Nathan Horton's return from a series of concussions could add another scoring option for the team. As for the Rangers, they were aggressive in the free agent market adding five-time All Star Rick Nash to the lineup as well as Taylor Pyatt, Jeff Halpern and Arron Asham. The Rangers are hoping this will provide the amped up offense they need to add to a stellar defense anchored by Henrik Lundqvist and propel them to a division title and a run at the Stanley Cup.
