The Boston Bruins host the New York Rangers in this week's featured NHL game of the week. The Bruins enter the 2012-13 season basically the same team that made the playoffs last year with one major exception. Goalie Tim Thomas announced he was taking the season off, which has accelerated the full time playing status for heir apparent, Tuukka Rask. Rask was signed to a one-year deal in the offseason and has plenty to prove to remain with the Bruins for the long haul. Top returners for Boston include 20-year old Tyler Seguin who was the Bruin's top scorer last year. Nathan Horton's return from a series of concussions could add another scoring option for the team. As for the Rangers, they were aggressive in the free agent market adding five-time All Star Rick Nash to the lineup as well as Taylor Pyatt, Jeff Halpern and Arron Asham. The Rangers are hoping this will provide the amped up offense they need to add to a stellar defense anchored by Henrik Lundqvist and propel them to a division title and a run at the Stanley Cup.

The Bruins keep coming back to one important thing. It’s been clear in the way they talk before and after games, and more importantly, it’s been clear in the way they’ve played. That one thing, the one thing that has been so important during their incredible start, is, of course, consistency. The Bruins went into Buffalo on Sunday night and picked up a 3-1 win over the Sabres...

The Bruins are off to their best 10-game start in franchise history, improving to 8-1-1 after a Sunday night win against the Sabres. The Bruins have started out February with three straight wins, holding their opponents to two goals while just scoring six goals themselves. This might not come as a surprise as the Bruins haven’t won a game by more than two goals all season, but...
The Bruins might be having some power-play issues, but at least they’ve got good company.
The Rangers are having similar issues with the extra man this season, and considering that many pundits pegged the Blueshirts as the team to beat, maybe the B’s can rest easy knowing they’re not the only ones hoping to improve.
NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette isn’t too worried about how...
Patrice Bergeron scored the go-ahead goal on a third-period power play Sunday night to lead the hot-starting Boston Bruins to a 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Whether it was the benefit of the extra day of rest or the results of cabin fever from Nemo, the Bruins came out flying in a rematch with the Buffalo Sabres last night. Again, it was a flawless third period that propelled the B’s to the 3-1 win and their best 10...
Despite a game in hand and a six-point cushion on the New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins know what theyâre getting when the Blueshirts arrive to the TD Garden for the season series finale between these Eastern Conference foes.
