NHL best bets: Three point SGPs for Thursday, Jan. 25
We won our lone SGP yesterday in the NHL, so it seems only right we load up some fresh bets for a big Thursday slate with three separate plays. If your state does not allow this market, know that I like each team to score 3-4 goals, and you can always mix and match players in separate plays. I prefer the correlation this market offers, if you can bet it, which I will get into next.
Joel Farabee & Travis Konecny points (+126 DK)
This combination has hit in nine of the past 10 road games, showing just how correlated it can be to find two guys on the ice together to get involved in some scoring.
Farabee and Konecny both skate on Philadelphia's top line, and they also are both on the Flyers top power play. That latter note is important here, as Philly owns the ninth-best PP scoring rate over the last 20 days while Detroit's penalty kill is in the bottom-half of the league.
The Red Wings have allowed 3.5 goals per game on home ice over the past month, quite consistently allowing 3+ goals. I'm expecting Flyers goals, and these two gentlemen are my favorite to chip in.
Konecny has a point in six straight meetings with Detroit, while Farabee has three points in his last three against the Red Wings.
Roope Hintz & Wyatt Johnston points (+152 DK)
I've been running Jason Robertson & Roope Hintz points combos for a few weeks now, it feels, but Robertson got the bump up to 1.5, so I drop him and instead pair with Hintz with his other linemate: Wyatt Johnston.
Both are rolling. Hintz has 12 points in his last nine games and Johnston has seven points in five games since moving up to the Stars top line.
This is my favorite spot for goals tonight, as the Stars are averaging 4.8 goals/game at home over the last 30 days and the Ducks are allowing 4.2 goals/game on the road in the same stretch.
Warren Foegele & Evander Kane points (+198 DK)
Both of these guys could be played straight. This is simply what the kids call going aggressive, read: greedy. If you want to opt for the straight path, I don't blame you, Foegele is -105 after all. I'll take a chance they get involved together, as they're both on Edmonton's second line alongside Leon Draisaitl, who has consistently cooked Chicago over the years.
The Oilers look solid for 4+ goals here against a weak Blackhawks defense, so there should be enough to go around.
Foegele has a point in three straight games, totaling five, while Kane has four points in these past three games. Both have two points in the two most recent home games, and here I am asking for just one each.
