NHL bets: Building our night around three stars at +192

The NHL's scheduling this week has been a bit wonky, giving us just two games to bet on tonight. The matchups on paper wouldn't be my first stops on a more packed day, but such is the hand we're dealt here.

I'm opting for a touch of simplicity, looking simply to the studs to deliver, and I see three such players this evening.

Brady Tkachuk 4+ shots

Senators vs. Sabres, 7 p.m. ET

I don't love targeting Buffalo for shots when they're on home ice, but I could see a sluggish game from the Sabres here as they return home off a long road trip. In past meetings, Ottawa tends to find some shooting, averaging 36.4 shots per game across their past 12 matchups.

Brady Tkachuk has been a big reason for those high shot totals as a team, averaging 5.6 SOG per game in his past 10 meetings with Buffalo.

Tkachuk has 4+ shots in 68% of his games this season and is averaging 5.1 SOG per game in his last 10 overall.

David Pastrnak 4+ shots

Bruins vs. Lightning, 7:30 p.m. ET

I could see this Boston-Tampa Bay game having plenty of offense, as is so often the case when the Lightning skate at home, so I'll dabble with a pair of the best players on the ice to make something happen.

Pastrnak is averaging 4.8 shots per game this season, hitting this 4+ number at a 71% clip, and he's loved seeing the Lightning. Pasta has averaged 5.1 SOG per game in his past 10 against them.

Nikita Kucherov 3+ shots

Kucherov has seen an uptick in his shots of late, piling up 13 in his past three, and he's hit 3+ shots in 79% overall on the year.

His three meetings with Boston this year have all seen the star winger come out flying, as he's piled up 18 SOG in three games against the Bruins, finishing with 5+ each time. In his past 10 against them, Kucherov is averaging 3.6 shots per game.
