NHL bets: Three plus-money shot props to start a fresh week on the ice

Plus money SOG props have been treating us quite kindly over the past few weeks, and the preference here is to keep attacking them as we navigate a night in the NHL. Monday's slate offers a few great spots for shots, and the prices make the play all the better.

1u: Adrian Kempe over 3.5 SOG (+102 FanDuel)

The Kings shouldn't have much trouble finding shots on goal against the Coyotes. Arizona is allowing 33.2 shots/game at home over their past month, and they also continue to struggle handing out power plays.

That plays into Kempe's role here for Los Angeles. He leads the team in PP shots this year with 17. Kempe has gone over this 3.5 number in four of his last five on the road, averaging 5.2 SOG/game on 8.4 attempts/game. That includes a 7-SOG game in October at Arizona. Here's to an encore.

1u: Filip Hronek over 2.5 SOG (+150 FD)

I love this value in a smash spot for Vancouver against the hapless San Jose Sharks. The Sharks are allowing 38 shots per game on the road over their past month, so yeah, I expect this Canucks offense to do whatever it wants.

Here's what I'm seeing with Hronek. Twice in his past three games, both at home, he's logged seven shot attempts, finishing with four and five SOG. There's a commonality between those two games; they came against the Islanders (second-most shots allowed to defensemen) and the Kraken (fourth-most shots allowed to defensemen).

Well, now in comes San Jose, the team allowing the most shots per game to defensemen. Hronek finished with three SOG in an earlier meeting this season against the Sharks, and based on the archetype of a "Hronek-over game," tonight should lend itself to 3+ SOGs.

.75u: Valeri Nichushkin 4+ shots (+154 FD)

I borderline feel like I betrayed Valeri Nichushkin by not betting his alternate shots and a goal in his last game. I had been on Val since that first game without Arturri Lehkonen and I'm incredibly disappointed in myself for glossing over the Avs most recent game.

Nichushkin once again scored and he once again piled up the shots. He's now logged 4+ shots in four straight games and has averaged 6.2 attempts/game in his last five.

With Lehkonen out of the lineup, Nichushkin has 4+ shots in 12 of his last 14 games, scoring a goal in three straight. Val has 4+ shots in five of his last eight against the Predators.
