Brendan Shanahan, the Director of Player Safety, for the National Hockey League has announced a three game suspension for Zack Kassian of the Vancouver Canucks, following a dangerous hit from behind, in a game earlier this week, against the Dallas Stars.Kassian is a repeat offender, and as such will sit for three games, for his hit from behind on Brenden Dillon of the Stars, late in the first period of the game Thursday night. Kassian was penalized with a five minute major for boarding and a game misconduct, on the play, and had he not been a repeat offender, might have received a one game suspension, but most likely a maximum fine, would have been the punishment. The National Hockey League does, as policy, punish repeat offenders, more severely due to their history. Kassian was suspended earlier this season for a high sticking incident. The players assistance fund will benefit by $32,103, which is the value of the salary that Kassian will lose for sitting the three games. When a play...

Following a morning video session in which the Vancouver Canucks were shown 65 of the 150 goals they’ve managed to score this season to pump them up mentally, they couldn’t physically handle the speed and skill of the Dallas Stars in a listless...

The Vancouver Canucks might have ended their three-game losing streak on Saturday night with a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames, but they also left with an embarrassing story. Video: Brian McGrattan scores from center ice on Eddie Lack

Brian McGrattan isn't exactly an offensive weapon. The enforcer entered Calgary's game against the Vancouver Canucks with just seven goals over the course of 290 games. With that in mind, it was only appropriate that he recorded an extremely unusual goal for the Flames in a losing effort against the Canucks.  Watch as he beats goaltender Eddie Lack from center ice: ...
