Best Athletes By The Numbers:
That season would see Jovanovski score 21 points (10 of which were goals) in 70 regular season games played. Jovanovski would be named to the NHL All-Rookie Team that year, along with assisting his team in reaching the Stanley Cup Finals (the Panthers fell to the Avalanche in four games), and would spend three and a half seasons with the team who drafted him.
In January of 1999, Jovanovski was traded by Florida to the Vancouver Canucks. After spending a year and a half with the Canucks, Jovanovski was ready for his breakout campaign. During the 2000-01 NHL season, he would score 47 points in 79 regular season games. That season would also be the beginning of a four-season stretch where the Canucks would reach the playoffs with Jovanovski.
After six and a half seasons spent with Vancouver, spanning the lockout season, Jovanovski signed a free-agent deal with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2006. Jovanovski has continued to produce offensively, and although his first year with the Coyotes saw an injury which limited him to 54 games, he has not scored less than 29 points in a single season with Phoenix, through the 2009-10 campaign.
Over 14 NHL seasons, Jovanovski has scored 467 points, 339 of which are assists.
Did you know..............Jovanovski was a runner-up for the Calder Memorial Trophy in 1996?
