Sergei Zubov, the right-shooting defenseman hailing from Moscow, Russia, was drafted 85th overall by the New York Rangers in 1990. Zubov made an immediate impact in the NHL, proving to be an elite assist-man. In his first full season with New York, 1993-94, Zubov would rack up 77 assists and 89 points in 78 
regular season games. After spending three years with the Rangers, where he wore number 21, and a brief stint with the Penguins, Zubov landed with the team he is most identified with now, the Dallas Stars.
Zubov spent the remainder of his NHL career in Dallas, between the 1996-97 and 2008-09 seasons. Over 16 campaigns in the NHL, Zubov accumulated 619 regular season assists, and 771 regular season points. He has also recorded 117 post-season points.
