Former NFL star Scott Niedermayer was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall Of Fame on Thursday. The defenseman captained the Canadian team that beat the United States in overtime for the gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He won three Stanley Cups with New Jersey and another with Anaheim. ''I've been tremendously fortunate throughout my hockey career of playing with great teammates, for good organizations and getting a chance to play for Canada in a bunch of international competitions,'' Niedermayer said. ''That has added up to some success and some championships and some great memories. This is a great way to sort of sum all that up.'' Figure skaters Jamie Sale and David Pelletier also were inducted along with rower Derek Porter, speed skater Jeremy Wotherspoon, bobsled pilot Pierre Lueders and soccer player Charmaine Hooper. Late Calgary Flames owner Daryl Seaman and sports pioneer Marion Lay were inducted as builders.
