Antti Niemi of the San Jose Sharks did it again. He threw a shutout in regulation and turned away everything in the shootout to help the San Jose Sharks post a 1-0 win over Detroit. The Sharks are 8-0-1 on the season. Jimmy Howard of the Red Wings gets a shutout for stopping all 27 shots he saw but also gets an overtime loss.
Logan Couture of the Sharks was the only player to score and that came in the third round of the shootout.
In our second 1-0 game of the night, Colorado went on the road and blanked Pittsburgh 1-0. Gabriel Landeskog scored the goal and Jean-Sebastien Giguere turned away all 34 Pittsburgh shots. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 13-of-14 shots and takes his first loss of the season.
