The Toronto Maple Leafs have avoided arbitration with Nikolai Kulemin, signing the forward to a two-year, $5.6-million deal.
Kulemin will make $2.6 million next season and $3 million in 2013-14. He made $2.2 million last season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and left wing Nikolai Kulemin agreed to a two-year contract on Thursday that will pay him $2.8 million per season, according to CBS and TSN. By reaching an agreement, arbitration was avoided. Kulemin, 26, had seven goals and 21 assists in 70 games last season. He had 30 goals the previous season.
Well, at least one Maple Leafs player is having some success. Toronto winger Joffrey Lupul, who attended the 2012 NHL Awards in Vegas as a nominee for the Masterton Trophy, met Dancing With the Stars' Cheryl Burke while at the show, and according to US Magazine -- by way of Puck Daddy -- the two are now dating.
