--LW Matt Martin was credited with six hits in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Boston, setting the NHL record with 360 hits for the season since it became an official stat in 2005-06. The previous mark was 356 by Minnesota's Cal Clutterbuck. "I'm really just finishing my checks, and it's something I'll continue to do," Martin said. "It's cool to be in the record book for something. At the same time, I expect myself to be high on that list every year." --G John Grahame, in uniform Saturday in an NHL game for the first time since 2008, thought his agent was pranking him when the Isles called last week to offer a contract for the rest of this season because of an injury to starter Evgeni Nabokov. "I was like, 'What's the catch?' " Grahame told Newsday after serving as Al Montoya's backup Saturday. "It's a crazy business. The more even-keeled you can stay, the better off you'll be. It's 10 days, five games, and I'm just going to have fun with it." QUOTE TO NOTE: "They exposed us in the third (period). I thought the last few games we played pretty well. The power play could have been the difference tonight with the score tied and we didn't generate too many chances there." -- Jack Capuano, after the Islanders' 6-3 loss Saturday to Boston.
