The Florida Panthers experienced a revival during the 2011-12 NHL Season, as the team made its first playoff appearance in 12 years. Besides capturing the first division title in the team’s 19-year history, the Panthers also went on to win their first playoff game since 1997, as they pushed the New Jersey Devils to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, ultimately losing in double-overtime. The quick turnaround came at the hands of general manager Dale Tallon, who had spent the past two off-seasons acquiring a multitude of veteran players, including former Vezina and Hart Trophy winner Jose Theodore.
