Waiting patiently for the phone to ring while tending to business down on the farm, Oilers’ veteran Liam Reddox has quietly accumulated an impressive 33-point season and a plus-14 rating to lead the Oklahoma City Barons, Edmonton’s AHL team.
Reddox and OK City teammate Linus Omark received “the call” from Edmonton GM Steve Tambellini last night, and are on their way to the Alberta capital to face off against the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday evening at Rexall Place.
The call-up falls on the heels of an ankle injury to Oilers rookie winger Jordan Eberle, who is awaiting an MRI to determine the severity of his injury. Eberle fell awkwardly during a 2-1 loss to Calgary Saturday evening, after a hit by Flames’ forward Ales Kotalik.
