Edmonton Oilers defenseman Andy Sutton has agreed to a one-year deal to remain with the club, the Edmonton Journal reported on Monday.
Financial terms were not reported by the newspaper, but TSN's Bob McKenzie noted that the deal is worth $1.5 million for the 2012-13 season - with an additional $250,000 in games played bonuses.

Ales Hemsky has not always been the most talked about Oiler when it comes to trade rumours. No, that honour was once held by Linus Omark. Especially when Omark was sent to the AHL Oklahoma City Barons before he could play his final 4 NHL games that would require him to pass through waivers to move up and down from the farm team.

Yes, it's silly season in the NHL. Yesterday, it felt like the flood gates opened on insanity. As far as the Oilers go, GM Steve Tambellini was less vague than usual during his most recent interview.
