Edmonton Oilers star left wing Taylor Hall will undergo surgery on his left shoulder and miss the remainder of the season.
Hall will be sidelined five to six months after the surgery, Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini said.
"I've been playing with a pretty bad shoulder for most of this year and I'm excited to see what I can do after it's fixed," Hall posted on Twitter.
The top overall pick of the 2010 draft, Hall hasn't played since suffering a concussion in a 3-1 victory over rival Calgary on March 16.
Hall, 20, has collected 27 goals and 26 assists in 61 games this season.
