Edmonton Oilers’ GM Steve Tambellini has sent his team’s 2010 sixth round draft choice (151st overall) to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for centre Colin Fraser of the Stanley Cup Champions. Fraser, 6’1”, 190lbs, recorded 19 points (7-12-19) and 44 penalty minutes in 70 games with Chicago this past season, and competed in three of the team’s post-season games. The trade is intriguing, especially given Fraser, if the Oilers don’t deal him away between now and July 1st, Free Agency Day, could mean Tambellini has something else up his sleeve, potentially trading speedy centre Andrew Cogliano to position the Oilers to move up and grab a second prospect in the top-15. I’ll blog on this possibility later. The bags are packed, and I’m just about to Edmonton International...
