Pretty much a must win game for the Devils, who are down 0-2 in the series. Sometimes road teams can find a spark which can lead to a victory and the Devils need that tonight. The Kings will want to continue and improve on their play of the first two games and want to make sure they don’t get caught up in impressing the home crowd by attempting to playing a wide open game. Simon Gagne is expected to be in the lineup tonight (replacing Brad Richardson) for the Kings, making his first game appearance since December 26, 2011.  He’s been out with a concussion since then. Puck drops around 8:15pm ET on NBCSN, CBC and RDS. Kings' Carter forging a new legacy in LA

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Jeff Carter's blond, scruffy playoff beard is just long enough to obscure the chip on the Los Angeles Kings forward's shoulder. It reveals itself when talking about his path to Southern California. "A lot of people were doubting me out there," Carter told reporters at the Toyota Center on Sunday. "I know that. This an opportunity to...

Kings must play as well at home as they do on the road

Game 3 of the Stanley Cup final might be determined, in part, by which team can manage its sleep better. Neither team is going to get very much in the next couple of days. The Kings can, at least, sleep a bit easier after they beat New Jersey 2-1 in overtime of Game 2 on Saturday night at Prudential Center to take a 2-0 series lead, but things won't be easy going forward. Game...

Lombardi's faith in trades rewarded in Cup run

Three games into the Los Angeles Kings' Stanley Cup Final series against the New Jersey Devils, the only remaining question is whether the parade route will travel down Figueroa or Olympic. Amongst the backdrop of constant "We Want the Cup" chants by a Staples Center record crowd of 18,764, the eighth-seeded Kings improved to 15-2 in the 2012 postseason with an emphatic...

Jonathan Quick’s Numbers Are Off The Charts

from Kevin Allen of USA Today, Quick had a 22-save shutout in Monday’s 4-0 victory to lower his goals-against average to 1.36 and improve his save percentage to .950. Quick’s postseason goals-against average is the best recorded by a Stanley Cup Final goalie, with a minimum of 10 games played, since Frank Brimsek’s 1.25 in 12 games for the Boston Bruins in 1939. “He’s...

Devils hoping for miracle after 4-0 loss to Kings

Only three NHL teams have rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win a playoff series, and just one - the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs - did it in the Stanley Cup finals. So the New Jersey Devils will either make history, or soon be history. With a 4-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings in Game 3 of the finals on Monday night, the Devils were pushed to the brink of elimination after a 102-point...

Matthew Barry: KINGS WIN: GAME FIFTEEN!

Stop blaming Dan O'Halloran. He didn't see the puck. Get over it. It's not like the refs didn't give the Devils ample opportunities to score. 6 in fact. The Dustin Penner breeze by that Brodeur did his best Luongo imitation was a joke as well as the slew foot that Koval-choke placed on Quick that was completely ignored by the zebra's. The fact that...

Kings land a massive TV deal with Fox Sports West

As player agent Allan Walsh so expertly put it on Twitter, the Los Angeles Kings have “struck while the iron is hot”: According to the Los Angeles Times’ Bill Shakin, the Kings inked a $250 million deal with Fox Sports West, though it isn’t necessarily due to the Kings’ playoff success: The Kings and Fox Sports have reached agreement on a new television contract, providing...

Is It Too Early To Plan The Parade In LA?

from Chris Johnston of the CP at the Globe and Mail, The championship series is shifting across the continent to Staples Center and the Kings have a chance to wrap it up on home ice.
