Kuklas Korner:
from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News,
Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk just confirmed that the NHL has suspended Steve Ott for two games for his hip check on Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo Saturday in St. Louis.
The NHL has not released its reasoning, and it generally does not take questions on its suspensions, so they will probably simply explain that Ott is a repeat offender and that the check was dangerous.
I disagree, but what do I know.

TORONTO (October 27, 2009) – Dallas Stars forward Steve Ott has been suspended for two games, without pay, as the result of a low-hit on St. Louis Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo in NHL game #138, October 24.
The incident occurred at 8:33 of the second period. No penalty was assessed on the play.
Ott, who was suspended for one game February 28, 2009, now is considered a repeat offender under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Accordingly, he forfeits $36,585.36 in salary based on the number of games (82) in a season, rather than the number of days (193). The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
