Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin may be struggling on the ice, but he seems to have found someone to keep him company off of it.
Ovechkin announced on his official Twitter account that he is dating Russian tennis starlet Maria Kirilenko.
The two-time Hart Trophy winner tweeted a picture of the two together, adding, "Me and my girlfriend Maria ... she is my queen!!!!"
For the record, the picture shows Ovechkin wearing a black shirt with the words, "It's good to be king" on the front.
On the ice, Ovechkin has collected just eight goals, 10 assists and 12 penalty minutes in 23 games this season.
The Montreal Gazette initially reported earlier this week that Kirilenko had been spending her offseason in Arlington, Va., which isn't too far from the nation's capital.
Kirilenko is lending a hand to the George Washington women's tennis team.
