Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin denied the spitting accusation of Columbus Blue Jackets' forward Derek Dorsett on Wednesday.
After Dorsett told the Columbus Dispatch that the Capitals captain spat in his face, Ovechkin denied doing so to the Washington Post.
"No, no, no," Ovechkin told the newspaper after practice. "I don't know. Show me that moment, I want to see it. No."
The two had a brief altercation during Saturday's game, resulting in a two-minute cross-checking penalty for Dorsett and a two-minute roughing minor for Ovechkin. They continued to jaw at each other while making their way to the penalty box.
"I haven't told many people this but he spit in my face," Dorsett told the Columbus Dispatch. "That got me a little more mad.
