The Tampa Bay Lightning remain undefeated at home after their 5-2 victory over the Florida Panthers Tuesday night. Steven Stamkos got things going early for the Bolts in the first period with his fourth goal of the season. After the Panthers’ Peter Mueller tied it 15 seconds later, rookie Cory Conacher put the Lightning back out in front. Victor Hedman passed the puck from the Florida blue line to Conacher as he raced into the offensive zone and beat Panthers goalie Jose Theodore, putting the Bolts up 2-1. “It was a great play by Hedman to find me in the middle there,” Conacher said about his goal after the game. “Luckily I had enough gas in my legs to just beat Weaver.” The Lightning would not look back from there as they scored three unanswered goals over the next two periods. One of them being a one-timer from captain Vincent Lecavalier in the third period during a power play. Tampa Bay goaltender Anders Lindback stopped 26 of 28 shots. Lightning were 2/5 on the power play and out-shot the Panthers 33-28. The Lightning have scored five or more goals for the third straight game and lead the NHL with 28 goals. They are now 5-1-0 on the season. (Photo credit: AP) The post Panthers are no match for the Lightning at home appeared first on The Bay Cave.
