Florida Panthers goaltender Jacob Markstrom made his first NHL start against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday.
Markstom, the 31st overall pick in 2008, has been with the club as backup Scott Clemmensen is sidelined because of an injury.
Markstrom, widely considered to be one of the game's top goalie prospects, drew the start in place of Jose Theodore.
The 21-year-old Swede got into just one game last season, playing the final two periods of a 5-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 23. He surrendered two goals on 14 shots in that one.
