The Papa John’s Pizza Twitter account was trying to get in on the hockey action prior to Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night and get their fans involved with them but they made a grave mistake.  Whoever was running the Twitter account had no clue who was actually playing in the Stanley Cup Final.  The Pittsburgh Penguins were swept by the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference Final, they should have said Chicago Blackhawks.  The tweet stayed up for over five hours until they finally deleted the tweet and sent out this one. Whoops, thanks for catchin' everyone! Meant Blackhawks! Who do you think is gonna take it? — Papa John's Pizza (@PapaJohns) June 13, 2013 Perhaps if ESPN had a little less Tim Tebow coverage, Papa John’s would be a little more informed.  Just a thought.

Penguins Update: Fleury, Fleury?

I know it seems like I have a vendetta against Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Honestly, I don’t. But I was checking out some stats and I stumbled upon something that I just had to share with our readers. There’s a popular notion among Pens fans that Fleury is—or was—an elite playoff goalie. A quick glance at his playoff stats indicate that’s not the case. Based on the...

Tammy Horton, Nathan Horton’s Wife, Is Former Playboy College Girl

There were probably plenty of heavy eyelids in Boston Thursday, as Bruins’ fans were up late watching the Chicag…

Bruins' Horton set to play in Game 2

Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton said he's ready to skate in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night at United Center. Just as crucial, his coach agreed hours before the puck dropped. "He feels really good, "Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "He looked really good out there, the last two days. There's absolutely no reason he shouldn't play...

Jaromir Jagr’s Wolverine Playoff Beard with Moustache

Boston Bruins forward Jaromir Jagr has grown one of the most epic playoff beards of the playoffs.  Jagr seems to be channeling his inner Wolverine, but added a moustache in with the mutton chops.  Nothing says ready for the Stanley Cup Finals like rocking this beard. [Boston Barstool]

Evgeni Malkin, Penguins Agree to Eight-Year, $76-Million Extension

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins and reigning NHL MVP Evgeni Malkin have agreed to an eight-year contract extension. The $76-million deal begins with the 2014-15 season and will carry an average salary cap hit of $9.5 million. The agreement comes one day after the Penguins signed coach Dan Bylsma to a two-year extension through 2016. The 26-year-old Russian won the Hart Trophy...

Torey Krug’s shine has worn off, but should he be benched?

Going into Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Bruins coaching staff will be faced with a decision that they probably never envisioned having to make – to bench rookie defenseman Torey Krug, or not to bench rookie defenseman Torey Krug? The 22-year old Krug burst onto the scene for the Bruins during their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Rangers, during which Krug...

Nathan Horton re-aggravates left shoulder injury during Game 1, status unknown

Nathan Horton left the first overtime of Wednesday’s Game 1 after suffering a pretty strange, non-contact injury while in front of the Blackhawks net. Horton appeared to injure his left shoulder while jostling with Niklas Hjalmarsson in front of the net towards the end of the first OT in Chicago. The Bruins forward didn’t return to the game and Claude Julien declined to give...

Chara, Bruins look to contain Blackhawks

Zdeno Chara would just as soon steer the conversation from his size. It's not hard to do, considering his contributions are as big as his frame. ''I'd rather have the talk about my game rather than just my size,'' the 6-foot-9 defenseman said. Chara is one of the main reasons - a big reason? - the Boston Bruins are back in the Stanley Cup finals, aiming...

Late into the night, the Bruins drop game one

Twenty-three years ago, the Boston Bruins opened their Stanley Cup Finals against Edmonton by playing a triple-overtime game. I was still over a year away from even being born, but as a fan of the Boston Bruins, I know the story. The Bruins dropped game one at home in what ended up being the longest game in Stanley Cup Final history. By the time the game ended, everyone just wanted...

Stanley Cup Finals Game 1 Recap: Chicago Blackhawks edge Boston Bruins in Triple OT, 4-3

Going into this series, I always thought that there would be a couple of thrilling overtime games. Little did I know that game one would be a daunting 112 minutes of tough ice time before a winner would prevail.  This game was the fifth-longest game in Stanley Cup history, which is mind-boggling to think about. Game one of this series was exactly what most thought it would be, a...

Boston Bruins: Torey Krug Not Letting Mistake Hurt His Confidence

Photo credit: Steve Babineau/Getty Images By Mitch Cole (@DirtyWaterBuzz) Bruins rookie Torey Krug spent the majority of the regular season playing for the Providence Bruins, Boston’s AHL affiliate, despite a one game appearance with Boston after being called up on an emergency basis the night Boston believed they had dealt Matt Bartkowski in a package for Jarome Iginla. After...

Mick Jagger Wishes Bruins Good Luck Before Stanley Cup Final Game 1 (Photo)

Mick Jagger and Jaromir Jagr have similar-sounding names, so it’s only right that the rock and roll legend would be rooting for the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final. Or something like that. Whatever the reason, the frontman for the Rolling Stones tweeted his surprising support for the Bruins on Wednesday evening. He posted a picture of himself with a Bruins sweater along with the...
