After struggling mightily through the first nine games of the season, the Bruins’ power-play unit finally came through Sunday night, with forward Patrice Bergeron netting the game-winner with the extra skater in a 3-1 win over the Sabres. Bergeron’s tally spoiled another stellar effort by Buffalo netminder Ryan Miller (36 saves) and put the B’s out to their best 10-game start to a season in franchise history. Boston has allowed just two goals since being routed by this same Sabres team on Jan. 31. “I just like our battling and the way that we compete and stay composed,” Bergeron told NESN’s Naoko Funayama during Ace Ticket Presents Bruins Overtime LIVE. “It doesn’t matter if we’re down a goal or if we’re not having our best start, we still find ways to get the victory. Our character has been huge throughout the first ten games.” See more from the alternate captain in video above.
