Patrice Bergeron showed unrelenting effort in the third period against the Maple Leafs as the Bruins trailed 2-1 on Monday night. The B’s showed increased intensity after their first goal by Milan Lucic in the first period, and carried that momentum into the third, when their next opportunity presented itself. Bergeron scored the equalizing goal after playing solid defense, then carrying the puck 200 feet down the ice, passing it off, planting himself in front of the Maple Leafs’ net and ripping a backhander into the net past James Reimer. The Bruins went on to win 2-1 in a shootout. Check out Bergeron’s play in the video above.
