It should come as no surprise that Patrick Marleau has been named the first star of the week by the NHL.Marleau has enjoyed a scorching hot start to the season with a league-leading nine goals and 13 points in only five contests. In the process, he became the second player in NHL history, and first since Cy Denneny back in 1917-18, to record four consecutive multi-goal games to begin a season. That streak came to end on Sunday when he scored one goal and added an assist against Vancouver in a 4-1 win.Fantasy hockey advice: This is a hard one, Patrick Marleau is usually a very consistent regular-season producer, however as of right now, Marleau’s fantasy value is at an all-time high. Can he really continue this pace? It's highly unlikely. So, if you're getting a ridiculous trade offer now would be the time to capitalize.Corey Crawford has been selected as the second star of the week by the NHL.The Chicago keeper has posted five straight wins to start the 2013 season to go with a 1.78 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage. It's been a great turnaround for Crawford so far after he struggled with consistency last season and the Blackhawks are giving him plenty of support offensively.Fantasy hockey advice: I personally jumped at the chance to acquire Crawford in my salary-cap fantasy league. Simply put, he was undervalued based on my year’s performance. This gave me more money to play with on the offense. Now, with the Chicago Blackhawks ranked number one on everybody's NHL power rankings list. Corey Crawford looks to be a smart move.Martin St. Louis has been named the NHL's third star of the week. The 37-year-old forward showed he still has plenty of jump left by opening the 2013 season with three goals and 11 points in five games. St. Louis' selection as the third star was highlighted by a four-assist performance against Philadelphia on Sunday to close out the week.Fantasy hockey advice: Since becoming a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning, St. Louis has been a premier fantasy hockey player. Off to another strong start, that status has not changed. For more great posts, be sure to visit, HockeyFanLand.
