French-language newspaper La Presse in Montreal had some quotes from Quebec Remparts coach Patrick Roy yesterday concerning Mikhail Grigorenko, who has three games remaining with the Sabres before Darcy Regier and his crew have to make a decision on keeping him or sending him back to the QMJHL:
"I begin to think that there is a strong possibility that Mikhail does not return with us. Yesterday (Monday), he played 13 minutes in his second game in two nights. He is doing well with the Sabres. And he behaves well defensively. I begin to think that the team I have right now, and that will add Kurt Etchegary when he is ready to return, is the one (with which) I'm going to finish the season."

Two games down, three to go.
From the sounds of Lindy Ruff's morning interview on the Howard Simon Show, the Sabres plan on keeping Mikhail Grigorenko past the five game deadline.
I think if they do keep him up after the five games, it's a good idea for a couple reasons.
While Grigorenko hasn't got on the scoresheet, I'm not worried about him. I wasn'...
The Buffalo Sabres have put up some mind-boggling merchandise numbers just one week into the 2013 season. According to the team's official site, the Sabres have sold more merchandise in the first week of the current season than they did during the entire 2010-11 season.

For all of Ryan Miller’s career domination versus Toronto (a 27-14-0 record, .922 SV%, 2.44 GAA coming into this season), he found himself surprisingly unable to lead his Buffalo Sabres to victory at the Air Canada Centre on any of the team’s three attempts during the 2011-12 campaign.
Looks like Nathan Gerbe has been cleared by team doctors to resume playing.
Thankss to Kevin Snow of sabres.com, here Sabres morning skate lines:

The Leafs face a rather daunting three games in four nights starting tomorrow night, with two road contests against two top Eastern Conference contenders.
Ryan Miller has a history of playing well against the Maple Leafs and Monday night was no different. Miller improved to 28-14 against Toronto all-time with a 35-save performance in Buffaloâs 2-1 victory at the Air Canada Centre.
Millerâs play was pivotal in helping Buffalo secure the win as the Sabres are off to a perfect 2-0 start to the lockout-shortened season.
Well that was a fun couple of days, no? A 5-2 beat down of the Flyers followed by a near textbook road win against the Leafs and the Sabres have gotten off on the right foot for this shortened 2013 season.
Sunday’s opener was about as sloppy as expected, as the Sabres and Flyers plodded through forty minutes of fairly average hockey before the Sabres third period explosion...
The Buffalo Sabres are hoping a solid start by goalie Ryan Miller is a sign of good things to come.
That's not so good for the Carolina Hurricanes, who have struggled to score coming out of the nine-month layoff.

After two days, the Sabres return to action tonight with the first half of a home-and-home series against the Carolina Hurricanes. Hopefully the team made good use of their two day break between games because it’s their last such break for the next three weeks.

The Buffalo Sabres lost 6-3 to the Carolina Hurricanes. A pathetic defensive efford by all 12 forwards and 6 D. The discipline that the team showed in wins vs. Philly and Toronto was flushed down the drain.
Jhonas Enroth now 0-9-3 in his last 12 decisions. He gave up career high four goals in the second period.
Tyler Myers, Robyn Regehr and the Sabres D corps didn't...
