Sorry AK Bars Kazan fans, it appears that you won’t be obtaining the services of Pavel Datsyuk. According to Sovietsy Sport, Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk has signed a deal to play with CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League, a team general managed by former Red Wing Sergei Fedorov. The news of this comes despite earlier reports that Datsyuk signed with AK Bars Kazan also of the KHL. Those reports however were later deemed inaccurate. In addition to Datsyuk, Red Wings defenseman Jakub Kindl tweeted this morning that he’s joined the Czech club Pardubice. Looks like deal is done for now going toplay in Pardubice twitter.com/JKindl4/status… — Jakub Kindl (@JKindl4) September 19, 2012 Furthermore, highly touted rookie Damien Brunner will continue to play for his Swiss team Zug before joining the Grand Rapids Griffins when their season starts on October 12th. h/t: Mlive.com, Twitter, Sovietsy Sport
