Pekka Rinne's summer has already been a busy one. The Nashville goaltender required arthroscopic surgery on his left hip and will need the next four months to recover and rehab before he's back to full health. It's not clear when he actually went under the knife, but four months out from the date of the report would mean he'd be ready to go around the middle of September.  This news makes a lot of sense. Rinne wasn't his usual self in 2013. His 2.43 GAA and .910 save percentage from this past season were his worst marks since 2009-10. This year he looked human, if not average at times, and rarely looked like the elite goaltender that could steal a win for his team. Was a nagging hip injury to blame? The reports don't indicate when Rinne injured his hip, but it's possible he carried it with him throughout 2013 and that it might have caused flaws in his mechanics whether he realized it or not. The issue has now been addressed and barring a setback, Rinne should be ready to go come training camp.  [follow]
