AP PhotoVeteran defenseman Bryan McCabe was acquired by the Rangers on February 26, just two days prior to the 2011 NHL Trade Deadline, mainly for one reason. That reason was to help quarterback the Blueshirts' struggling powerplay and give them the cannon of a shot from the point that they were lacking. In 19 regular season games with the Rangers, he scored twice on the powerplay and New York, as a team, was still troubled with the man advantage.
