Sporting News staff reports Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar will be out four to six weeks because of a broken wrist, according to an ESPN.com report. Gonchar sustained the injury in the second period of Pittsburgh's 5-1 victory over St. Louis on Tuesday and did not play in the third period. He is the Penguins' leader in ice time and point man for the team's power play. Gonchar also has two goals and eight points to help the defending Stanley Cup champions to a league-best 8-1 start. Gonchar missed the first 56 games of the season last year, and the Penguins were just 27-24-5 in his absence. They went 18-4-4 down the stretch after he returned.
