Penguins Cut Roster to 23 Players

As expected, the Pittsburgh Penguins cut their roster by four players today to get down to the 23-man roster that is required to be submitted to the league by Tuesday, Oct 2. Defensmen Kris Letang, Right Wing Jonathan Filewich, Left Wing Jeff Taffe and Center Ryan Stone were all reassigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins start the regular season on the road Friday against Carolina, and have a home opener on Saturday against Anaheim.
