Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Deryk Engelland will have a hearing with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan for his hit on Marcus Kruger of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Engelland led with his forearm in delivering a hit to Kruger's head midway through the first period of Tuesday's game. Kruger was able to play the rest of the session, but did not return for the second period.
A date has not been set for the hearing. The Penguins do not return to the ice until Friday when they visit the Winnipeg Jets.
Engelland, 29, has collected two goals, eight assists and 30 penalty minutes this season.
