Man that was a pretty heavy title. The Pens are down a top blue line prospect what with Joe Morrow being dealt for non-related Stars captain Brenden Morrow. We say "down" in only a certain sense, as the pipeline still holds Simon Despres, Robert Bortuzzo, Scott Harrington, Brian Dumoulin, Olli Maaty and Derrick Pouliot. Well one of those prospects, Scott Harrington, apparently has been spending his time being a horrible scary dentist who exposes his patients to Hepatitis and HIV: No clue why Shero didn't trade this punk instead of Morrow when he first got word.

Like a good neighbor, Ray Shero’s there or Are the 2013 Penguins now the 1927 Yankees?

With rumors flying all over the place that the Boston Bruins had put together a big time trade that would rival or even surpass the two that the Penguins had just made around midnight last night, I can just picture Penguins Assistant Coach Tony Granato running over to Head Coach Dan Bylsma and saying, “Do the jingle, do the jingle”  Bylsma then proceeded to sing, “Like a good...

Sidney Crosby injured after taking a puck to the face

Just when everything seemed to be running smoothly in Pittsburgh (long winning streak, three new additions including Jarome Iginla), a Brooks Orpik slapper deflected off a stick and struck Sidney Crosby in the face.  Be warned. The video below will make you cringe as an unsuspecting Crosby takes a puck right to the mouth.  Crosby was able to leave the ice, but was...

Video : Slapshot hits Sidney Crosby in face

The Pittsburgh Penguins debuted their new and improved roster today against the New York Islanders, but  just 50 seconds in Sidney Crosby left the game after taking slapshot in face. If you watch the replay closely, you can see a couple of Sid’s teeth go flying before he is knocked down to the ice. This is the third time in the last year that Crosby has taken a puck to the face...

Jesus, Sidney Crosby took a deflected puck to the face

Since Sidney Crosby doesn't skate with an aquarium on his head, he took a puck to the chin/teeth during today's match with the Islanders. Initial reports are hospital, dental work. 0-0, 15 to... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Iginla makes Penguins debut against Islanders

After scoring more than 500 goals in Calgary, Jarome Iginla just wants to fit in with Sidney Crosby and the streaking Pittsburgh Penguins. The former Flames captain, acquired early Thursday in Pittsburgh's latest blockbuster trade, made his Penguins debut Saturday against the New York Islanders. Pittsburgh was looking for its 15th straight victory, which would be two shy of...

Video- Ron MacLean Talks With Jarome Iginla

Ron MacLean of HNIC chatted with Jarome Iginla today via satellite after his first game with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Iginla discusses his first game with the Penguins and the trade process.

Pens dump Jets in Malkin's return

Pascal Dupuis scored twice and Evgeni Malkin had a goal in his return to the lineup, leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-0 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night for their 14th straight win. Chris Kunitz had a goal and an assist and Sidney Crosby had two assists to push his league-best points total to 56 as the Penguins capped a giddy 24 hours and moved within three...

Penguins 2, Islanders 0

The Pittsburgh Penguins overcame a bloody injury to Sidney Crosby on Saturday for their 15th straight victory, beating the New York Islanders 2-0 in Jarome Iginla's debut behind third-period goals from Matt Cooke and James Neal. Tomas Vokoun made 35 saves as Pittsburgh moved within two wins of the NHL record of 17 straight victories set by Mario Lemieux and the 1992-93 Penguins...

Bruins Focused on Players on Team, Moving on After Missing Out on Jarome Iginla (Video)

The Bruins thought they had Jarome Iginla — then they didn’t. After losing out on the longtime Calgary captain to the Pittsburgh Penguins — who had also previously acquired Brenden Morrow and Doug Murray — suggesting it’s panic time for the Bruins might not be too far off the mark. Nonetheless, the players that are actually on the team are staying focused, saying that they’re...

Dee Karl: Isles get an Easter Egg in Pittsburgh 2-0 Pens

Playoff teams find ways to win. At the time, the Islanders are not built to be a playoff team. Even without Crosby, who took a puck to the mouth, the Isles still lost the Penguins who made history this afternoon on their home ice. It seems no NHL teams has ever won every game in March. The Penguins manage to break records all the time. This is just another one to put in the...

Penguins move within 3 of NHL consecutive win mark

Sidney Crosby isn't concerned about making history. He'd also prefer not to have the Pittsburgh Penguins repeat it. Sure, Crosby is enjoying Pittsburgh's 14-game winning streak. Yet he also knows his team's perfect run through March won't mean a thing if the Penguins don't come through in May and June. ''I don't think anyone is going to remember...

Jay Feaster is the absolute worst

Goddamn. Jay Feaster is so incompetent at his job that now he's expanded business to Boston. Not only did he tell Chiarelli that the Bruins had Jarome Iginla, he also requested the Bruins sign that one-year contract with Matt Bartkowski so he'd be all contracted up for the Flames when the trade was finalized. Matt Bartkowski confirmed his one-way contract was...

Peter Chiarelli Admits He Must Get ‘Creative’ As Bruins’ Need to Improve Becomes More Pressing

Peter Chiarelli stood in front of the Boston media Thursday afternoon looking like a tired and beaten man. In many ways, there were no better words to describe the Bruins general manager. Hopefully for his own physical sake he got a little bit of shut-eye after that revealing news conference, but he doesn’t have much time to rest. But then again, there’s no rest for the weary...
