The Penguins recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey from his conditioning assignment with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Tuesday, but that does not mean he will become a regular in the lineup. He is still dealing with the effects of April surgery on his right knee.

Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, TSN reported on Wednesday.
Crosby skated on the team's top line with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal during Wednesday's practice. Crosby has said that he will not talk about his playing status until there is a change.

PITTSBURGH – I don’t know quite how to classify my thoughts on this one tonight. On the one hand, I believe the Avs fully deserved to lose because of some bad plays and decisions when it mattered most. On the other hand, I feel like they were victimized by a hometown officiating crew that got a couple of calls very wrong and really affected the outcome.
