In recent year, fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins haven’t had much interest in the annual World Junior Championship, but this time, a key prospect could be representing his home country.
Hockey Canada announced that 30 youngsters have been invited to selection camp and one of them was Penguins top prospect Brayden Yager.

The most recent 14th overall pick has been putting up impressive numbers with his WHL team the Moose Jaw Warriors and has earned every bit of this invite.
In 25 games played with the Warriors, Yager has recorded 17 goals and 22 assists for 39 total points, good for second on the team.
Yager is a native of Saskatoon, SK, Canada and is still only 18-years-old.
When Yager spent some time with the Penguins at their professional training camp, he impressed everyone with his skill and hockey sense.
There is still plenty of room to grow, but the Penguins have a top prospect that could be a real difference maker in the NHL.
Early predictions for the Canada’s World Junior roster also included Penguins defensive prospect Owen Pickering, but he was absent from the invites.
