Pro Sports Daily:
Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that he will not play this week.
The Penguins have games Thursday at San Jose and Sunday at Los Angeles, followed by five days off. Crosby has not played since Jan. 5 due to a concussion and is slowly working his way back to game condition.
"Same old story," Crosby told the newspaper Monday. "We haven't had a ton of time to practice, but the next little while there will be some opportunities; so it will kind of be a bit more of a test there with some days in a row to get some contact and game-situation stuff."
The Penguins played 13 games in October, most in the NHL. They are 8-3-2 without Crosby.
Crosby was cleared for contact in practice Oct. 13 and has traveled with the team but has yet to play. The former MVP had 32 goals and 34 assists in just 41 games last season.

Asked about the amount of contact he has had in practice the past few weeks, Sidney Crosby smiled. "Uh, three hits?" he said, then laughed. At least the Penguins captain is keeping his spirits up as he continues to work his way back from a concussion that has kept him out of games since Jan. 5.
Don't you dare hurt Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin's feelings by taking him out of the game in crunch time. The Washington Capitals trailed by two goals with less than half a period left on Tuesday night against the Anaheim Ducks. The Caps went on a scoring bing and put together a 5-4 comeback win in overtime. What part did Alexander Ovechkin play in the nice...

It was an apologetic Joe Thornton who addressed the local media Wednesday, again saying that he wished he had chosen his words differently after the Sharks' 5-2 loss to the New York Rangers on Monday.
