Regardless, It may not be the home opener that those hunting for ratings would be enthralled for, but the Pens will open this season just as banged up as they ended the last one.

- Brooks Orpik will once again be out of tonight’s lineup. Pens head coach Dan Bylsma stated that Orpik will return to the lineup “soon” and that Brooks is “improving”, but would best be served to stay off the ice for now. At least the debate about “which Pens defenseman will sit when Orpik is back” debate will continue to rage on for a little longer.
