PHILADELPHIA - OCTOBER 08: Kris Letang #58 of the Pittsburgh Penguins skates during the game against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wachovia Center on October 8, 2009 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)

The skills competition started off to see who the fastest skater was. Kris Letang won his race with a time of 14.501 seconds but did not have what it takes to make it to the next round of the challenge.

The breakaway and accuracy shooting contests had neither Malkin, Letang or Neal in them.

Next up was the skills relay challenge where Letang from team Alfredsson went 3-4 on one-timers. Neal hit all 4 targets in accuracy in roughly 17 seconds. After this challenge Neal and Letang were off to the side juggling the puck with each other entertaining the fans.
Malkin on team Chara quickly made it through the puck control station to help his team out in their overall time.

A new record has been broken by Chara of the Boston Bruins by shooting a puck 108.8 miles per hour in the hardest shot competition where no Pens participated.

In the first round of the elimination shootout Malkin went 5-hole against Lundqvuist. Neal had his shot saved by Thomas. And Letang pulled a triple deke to get it past Howard.
In the second round Malkin’s shot was saved by Lundqvuist. Letang put the puck through his own leg, off of his heel through Thomas’ legs to be veered just right of the goal to also be eliminated in the second round.

In other news Sid the Kid is said to have suffered a neck injury along with his concussion. He apparently has already healed the neck injury but is still having some symptoms from the concussion. No expected date of when he’ll return to the ice.
