The skills competition started off to see who the fastest skater was. Kris Letang won his race with a time of 14.501 seconds but did not have what it takes to make it to the next round of the challenge.
The breakaway and accuracy shooting contests had neither Malkin, Letang or Neal in them.
Next up was the skills relay challenge where Letang from team Alfredsson went 3-4 on one-timers. Neal hit all 4 targets in accuracy in roughly 17 seconds. After this challenge Neal and Letang were off to the side juggling the puck with each other entertaining the fans.
Malkin on team Chara quickly made it through the puck control station to help his team out in their overall time.
A new record has been broken by Chara of the Boston Bruins by shooting a puck 108.8 miles per hour in the hardest shot competition where no Pens participated.
In the first round of the elimination shootout Malkin went 5-hole against Lundqvuist. Neal had his shot saved by Thomas. And Letang pulled a triple deke to get it...
