It was announced yesterday that the Penguins signed winger Pascal Dupuis to a two year deal worth $3 Million dollars. Which puts him at $1.5 million against this years cap and only a slight raise from last year’s $1.4 million. Originally Ray Shero tried to offer a one year deal but Dupuis wanted more than that and he got it. Dupuis knows that he could have probably made much more on the open market when free agency begins on Friday, July 1st, but here’s what he had to say about it:
“Pittsburgh is where other guys in the NHL want to play,” Dupuis said. “Great city, great building, great fans, great ownership and a great front office. You can’t beat it here. And I know I’ll have two great chances to win another Stanley Cup. That’s why I’m here — to win another Cup.”
