The Philadelphia Flyers, led by two goals from Wayne Simmonds, snapped the five game winning streak that the Nashville Predators were on with a score of 4-1.

The Flyers led wire-to-wire, with their first goal coming off a beautiful move my Simmonds in front of the Nasvhille goal at the 15:41 mark of the first period. Nashville had two power play opportunities in the first period, but came up empty on both.

Matt Read extended the Flyers' lead over the Predators with a steal and score at 14:32 in the second period. The Predators once again went scoreless in the second period. The two teams combined for 16 total penalty minutes in the second period.

Nashville finally started to show signs of life in the third period when Ryan Suter, assisted by Craig Smith and Matt Halischuk, showed the Flyers fans what they can hopefully never have, when he scored a goal at 8:37 in the third. At 15:19, Wayne Simmonds effectively put the game away with a power play goal to extend the lead to 3-1, and once the Predators were forced to pull Linstrom for a six-on-five advantage, Claude Girouxe was able to ice the game with an empty-net goal scored with just more than a minute left in the period.

Anders Lindback had a .889 save percent, with 24 saves off 27 save attempts. Nashville had 27 shots on goal, but were only able to convert one goal. The Predators wend 0-4 on power plays in the game.

The two teams split their season series, each winning on their own home ice. The Predators head home to Nashville to play the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
