The Phoenix Coyotes are hoping to fill more seats this season. The 6-6-2 team currently sits in 4th place in the Pacific Division and is last in the NHL in home attendance, averaging a paltry 12,348 fans a game. The club's solution? A ticket package called the GOALden Ticket. The aptly titled ticket package allows fans to purchase one of two different ticket packages to attend anywhere from one to 10 of the Coyotes final regular season games at Jobing.com Arena (Note: This package applies to lower level seats only). Confused? The Coyotes provide some details to make things clearer, By purchasing the first ticket package for $100, a fan will receive five (5) goals on their GOALden Ticket. Beginning on March 9 versus the Dallas Stars, fans will be able to see up to 10 Coyotes home games until the team gives up five (5) goals at Jobing.com Arena. Once that happens, the GOALden Ticket is void. The second ticket package provides the fan with 25 goals on their GOALden Ticket for the price of $250. Beginning on March 9 versus the Dallas Stars, fans will have an opportunity to attend up to 10 Coyotes home games until the team gives up 25 goals at Jobing.com Arena. Once this occurs, the GOALden Ticket is void. As an added bonus, if the Coyotes register a shutout at any time during the final 10 regular season home games and a consumer's GOALden ticket is still valid, the consumer will receive an additional free ticket to the Coyotes Fan Appreciation Night on April 26th. It is an innovative promotion, to say the least, and I'm guessing that it will generate some interest in what will otherwise be meaningless games. That being said, consistently winning games would probably be far more beneficial to the Coyotes than a clever promotion, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards at the moment. For more information on the promotion, you can visit the Coyotes website.
