Lauri Korpikoski and the Phoenix Coyotes agreed to terms on a two year contract today.
Korpikoski became a standout Coyote in the offensive zone last season as he finished the year tied for second in goals with 19 and lead the team with 2 shorthanded goals. He was fifth overall on the Coyotes in scoring and near the end of the year he became a solid two way player.
Korpikoski is only 24 years old and is coming off of a career year in 2010. The Coyotes are hoping he continues to put up big numbers and can take a spot on the first line next to Shane Doan.
Korpikoski has played 3 seasons in the NHL with the Rangers and Coyotes. He was selected 19th overall in the 2004 entry draft.
