Growing up in Sweden, if Jonas Jerebko was going to play any sport professionally, it was more than likely going to be hockey. But when you grow up to be 6'10" 235 pounds and you're not named Zdeno Chara, your career path won't lead you to the ice rink. Jerebko had the opportunity to show off his skating ability when he recently practiced with the Red Wings The 24 year old Jerebko won't be confused for Pavel Datsyuk, but for a tree on skates, his showing was pretty impressive.  I'd pay a dollar to see other gangily NBAers get on the ice and flop around.  It'd bring a different meaning to the hoops term "broken ankles". Zdeno Chara Dressed Up as a Bunny…That is All

Zdeno Chara in all of his glory. You’ll have to show me photographic proof to tell me that this isn’t the funniest thing you’ve seen all Halloween. It’s Zdeno Chara dressed as a rabbit. He’s accompanied by fellow Bruins teammates at a children’s hospital, spreading the joy of Halloween, I guess. I can only hope we’ll get a similar showing at Easter. Just pure gold. H/T: Puck Daddy

Howard becomes father, will miss next game

DETROIT -- There was no sign of goaltender Jimmy Howard at Red Wings practice Monday at Joe Louis Arena, but there was a perfectly good reason for that. Howard and his wife, Rachel, welcomed their first child Sunday, a boy named James Russell Howard IV. "Congratulations to Howie and Rachel -- James Russell the fourth," coach Mike Babcock said. "It's a pretty...

Nightmare fuel: Zdeno Chara dressed as a rabbit

You don't have to be Buffy's Anya Jenkins to find this terrifying: that's Zdeno Chara dressed like a seven-foot-tall pink bunny rabbit, flanked by teammates during a Halloween-themed visit to the Children's Hospital. Yes, this photo, tweeted this afternoon by NESN's Naoko Funayama, is real. It's also downright ghastly. One wonders if the plan here was to...

Columbus 4, Detroit 1: Wings beaten badly by bad team

The Red Wings wanted better out of their special teams, out of Ty Conklin, out of themselves, basically, after being humbled by the NHL's best.

Zdeno Chara, Brad Marchand Among Bruins Dressed in Halloween Costumes During Visit to Children's Hospital (Photos)

The Bruins brightened the days of some kids on Tuesday, and in the process, the images will probably brighten the days of a lot of their fans as well. A quartet of B's helped spread some cheer at Children's Hospital in Boston when they showed up to visit with some of the children. To make things better, Zdeno Chara, Brad Marchand, Adam McQuaid and Jordan Caron all showed...

Powerless on power play
