Buffalo Sabres (0-2-0) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (1-0-0) Root Sports, MSG-B - 7:00 pm/et  Consol Energy Center - Pittsburgh, PA Outside of Thomas Vanek and Ryan Miller, the Buffalo Sabres are barely an NHL team. Steve Ott is one of their "co-captains." Yes, co-captains. Yes, Steve Ott. Of course, this means the Sabres will play like the 1976–77 Montreal Canadiens tonight against the Penguins. It's just how things work. STATS, INFO & NOTES: Leading Scorers: Penguins: Sidney Crosby/Chuck Kobasew/Craig Adams (1G) - Just like we all expected, right? Sabres: Zemgus Girgensons (1G) Starting Goaltenders: Penguins: Marc-Andre Fleury (1-0-0, 0.00 GAA, 1.00 Sv% ) Sabres: Jhonas Enroth (N/A) Last Games: Penguins: Defeated New Jersey Devils 3-0. Sabres: Lost 1-0 to Ottawa Senators. Previews from Team Websites:  [Sabres] [Penguins] Opposition Blog: [Die by the Blade] What They're Saying: "Sabres fall to Senators in entertaining home opener 1-0" Let's be very clear right off the bat - this game was a battle of two goaltenders, both of whom are auditioning to become the team's starter for the 2014 Olympics. Miller was fantastic tonight, making 45 saves, many of the spectacular variety, while Anderson made 35 saves in the shutout. The Sabres will go as far this year as Miller will carry them, and tonight he showed that he could carry them quite far indeed. Making multiple 2-on-1, power play, and breakaway saves, #30 proved that he still holds significant value as a starter, and showed that he might have another Olympic-fueled Vezina campaign in him. We expect Jhonas Enroth tomorrow, but let's see how this story plays out as he season progresses. What Happened Last Time: April 23, 2013 - Pens lost 4-2 [Our Recap] The big thing from this game was the mysterious injury to Brooks Orpik and the return of Geno Malkin, who looked pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. Penguins Player(s) to Watch: Marc-Andre Fleury. He looked strong against the Devils, but so did the Penguins' defense. Is this the dawning of a new Fleury, the creation of a new defensive scheme for the Pens or is it just the regular season?. Sabres Player(s) to Watch: John Scott, because he's such a bad hockey player that his coach got fined for playing him.
