With defenseman Paul Martin‘s game status questionable due to an illness,  the Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled rookie blueliner Simon Despres from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for at least tonight’s game against the Ottawa Senators. The 20-year-old has one goal and three assists in 13 NHL games this season, and has turned in a solid performance literally every time he’s suited up for Pittsburgh. Some may argue the Penguins are better off with Despres in the lineup rather than even a healthy Martin, and I wouldn’t argue against that. Check out my article from earlier today for a few more Penguins updates. Game time is 7:08 PM. Follow Troy on Twitter @TroyPfaff

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators – Game 41

Who: Pittsburgh Penguins (21-15-4) vs. Ottawa Senators (22-15-6) Where: Consol Energy Center When: 7:00 PM EST Channel: ROOT Sports To be honest I’m not even sure who is suiting up for the Penguins at this point.  This team is decimated.  There is a point in time where depth just doesn’t matter.  This is that point.
