General manager Ray Shero announced today that the team has recalled forwards Jayson Megna and Chris Conner and defenseman Simon Despres from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. It was announced earlier in the week that forward Beau Bennett would be out 8-10 weeks with a broken wrist/hand. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of the additions to the current injury report. Forward Tanner Glass, who is having a great season on the fourth line for Pittsburgh, will be out 3-4 weeks with a broken hand and defenseman Paul Martin has a lower-body injury and could miss some time. Glass and Bennett are already on injured-reserve, but Martin is not listed on it yet, according to the team website. In addition to these moves, the Penguins placed forward Matt D’Agostini on waivers yesterday. He can be claimed by any NHL team until noon today. If he is not claimed, he can be sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Here are the current injured players for Pittsburgh: F Beau Bennett F Tanner Glass F Chuck Kobasew D Paul Martin D Rob Scuderi G Tomas Vokoun

Penguins rally to outgun Toronto, 6-5

Hockey, conventional wisdom holds, is a game of mistakes. Makes perfect sense in a sport that is so fast, so physical.
