When the Flyers went through their organizational facelift this offseason, they added more than a few new faces to their still very talented roster. Over the next few days, and leading up to the start of training camp on the 17th of this month, I’ll be focusing in on the new guys and talking a little bit about them in Player Profiles. We begin with the talented young right wing acquired from Columbus in the Jeff Carter trade; Jakub Voracek. Voracek began his professional playing career with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he played for two seasons. The Czech Republic native was drafted 7th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, just five slots behind Flyers’ forward James van Riemsdyk. Voracek is a 22 year old forward who wasted no time showing he can produce in the NHL by scoring in his first career game.
