Jason Pominville scored two goals, including the game-winner late in the third period, to lead the Minnesota Wild over the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 on Friday night. Pominville scored the winner from just outside the left crease, beating goalie Carey Price and notching his team-leading ninth goal with 5:28 left. Justin Fontaine and Nino Niederreiter also scored for Minnesota. Brendan Gallagher, P.K. Subban and Brian Gionta scored for Montreal, which rallied from a 3-1 third-period deficit but couldn't win its third straight game. Pominville gave Minnesota a 2-1 lead in the second after he corralled a long lead pass from Mikael Granlund and beat Price through the five-hole on a breakaway.

Wild's offense comes alive in 4-3 win over Canadiens

As Wild coach Mike Yeo juggled his line combinations last week, there was one duo he wanted to keep intact. Center Mikael Granlund and right wing Jason Pominville had been developing an increasingly productive chemistry, one that Yeo hoped could inject more life into a meek offense. Friday at Xcel Energy Center, the two teamed for one goal, and Pominville was set up for another...

Charlie Coyle will return from a knee injury tonight from Minnesota, and he’ll do it on a new-look line. Pominville strikes twice to keep Wild ahead in 4-3 win over Montreal

Tradition, a word that is often spoken with great reverence to recognizing past glory.  No team in the NHL has a more storied or successful 'tradition' as does the Montreal Canadiens.  Sorry Toronto Maple Leafs fans, but you don't hold a candle to the bleu, blanc et rouge!  Montreal has won more Stanley Cups than any franchise in NHL history with 24 championships to...

Former Devils captain Zach Parise says it will be 'weird' facing ex-teammates

A year ago, Zach Parise would have been gearing up for a particularly uncomfortable visit to Prudential Center. Before the NHL lockout wiped out three months of the 2012-13 season and forced the elimination of games outside the conference, the Minnesota Wild were scheduled to play in Newark on Nov. 11, 2012. It would have been Parise’s first game against the Devils after he left...

Harding earns 2nd shutout of the season in 4-0 rout of New Jersey

A few days ago, children all across America donned a wide variety of costumes and went around to their local neighborhoods trick or treating as they went.  Some of the costumes are often more cute while others love to bring on the gore.  Zombies, these days seem to be the 'fashionable' costume of choice which is understandable considering the popularity of shows like AMC...
